We spent the day exploring Alicante, and it turned out to be the perfect city to discover on foot. Our first stop was Casco Antiguo Santa Cruz, the oldest part of the city. The small streets, white houses, and colorful flower pots gave the neighborhood so much character. We loved wandering around without really having a plan, because every corner looked beautiful and there were so many little viewpoints overlooking the city.
After all that walking, we had lunch at Sale Pepe Barrio. We both felt like having Italian food, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The pizzas were fresh, the pasta was delicious, and the atmosphere was really relaxed. It was exactly what we needed before continuing our day.
As seafood lovers
We also had to visit Pesca al Peso. The concept is simple: you choose your own fresh fish or seafood, and they prepare it for you. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and it was one of our favorite meals during our stay.
Before heading back, we couldn’t resist stopping at Livanti Gelato Di Sicilia for some gelato. After a warm day of exploring the city, it was the perfect way to end the evening.
Alicante surprised us with how easy it is to explore. It has beautiful historic streets, great restaurants, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to stay just a little longer. If you enjoy good food, walking around charming neighborhoods, and spending time by the sea, Alicante is definitely a city worth visiting.
