Three Places in Calpe You’ll Want to Add to Your Trip

There are some places you visit because they’re famous, and then there are the places you end up remembering because they simply made your day better. During a stay in Calpe, these are three spots I’d definitely keep on the list especially if you like mixing good food, a little adventure and plenty of time to enjoy the Spanish way of life.

Start slow at Cafeseamos
One of my favourite things about being on holiday is forgetting what time breakfast is supposed to happen. No rushing, no checking the clock just finding a nice café, ordering something delicious and taking your time.

That’s exactly the feeling I get at Cafeseamos. It’s a great place to start the day with a coffee and something sweet, whether you’re in the mood for pancakes or prefer something a little more savoury. And the best part? You don’t necessarily have to leave after breakfast. It’s also a good spot to come back to later for lunch or a coffee break.
It’s especially handy when travelling with kids, too, as there’s a little something for everyone.
Best for: couples, families and friends who like to start their day without rushing.
My tip: don’t plan anything straight after breakfast. Sit down, order something you wouldn’t normally have at home and enjoy the fact that you’re on holiday.

Climb the Peñón de Ifach

You can see the Peñón de Ifach from almost everywhere in Calpe, so naturally, at some point you start thinking: what would the view look like from up there? Well… pretty amazing.
The rock rises 332 metres above the Mediterranean and is one of the most recognisable sights on the Costa Blanca.

The walk starts relatively easily, but the further you go, the more adventurous it becomes. One of the fun parts is walking through the tunnel carved into the rock and from there, the views just keep getting better.

This isn’t necessarily a walk I’d recommend in the middle of a hot afternoon. Go early, take plenty of water and wear proper shoes. The reward at the top is a spectacular view over Calpe, the coastline and the Mediterranean.
Best for: active couples, friends and families with older children who enjoy a bit of adventure.

My tip: take your time. The view is the whole point, so there’s no need to race to the top. And yes, you’ll probably take far too many photos.

Finish the day with curry at Punjabi Curry
After a morning of walking, there’s nothing better than sitting down to a proper meal. And while Spain has plenty of incredible food to offer, sometimes it’s nice to change things up.
Punjabi Curry Original Indian Restaurant Bar is a great option when you’re craving something different. Expect plenty of flavour, curries, naan and vegetarian options, with dishes that are perfect for sharing.
I especially like Indian food when travelling with a group because ordering several different dishes and sharing everything makes dinner feel a little more social. Not sure what to order? Ask the staff they’re happy to help you find something that suits your taste.

Best for: couples, groups of friends and families who enjoy trying different cuisines.
My tip: don’t just order one main dish each. Get a few different curries and some naan for the table and turn dinner into a little tasting session.

A little summer tip for the Peñón de Ifach: during the busy summer months, we recommend making a reservation in advance, as access can be limited when it gets crowded.
And if you’re travelling with children, keep a close eye on them after passing through the tunnel. From there, the trail becomes steeper, rockier and more exposed, so it’s important to take your time and make sure everyone feels comfortable.

Whether you combine all three into one fun day or spread them across your holiday, I hope you enjoy these little Costa Blanca favourites as much as we do.

Because sometimes the best holiday plans are the ones where you leave a little room for spontaneity.
